Clarisonic: One of Oprah's Favorite Things

Updated on November 4, 2013

Clarisonic Reviews: A Miracle Massage For Your Face

I never heard of the Clarisonic SkinCare Brush until very recently. What drew my attention to it was that I saw it on a list of Oprah's Favorite Things for 2007.

As Oprah is very selective I started to read more about the Clarisonic Skincare system and was very impressed by the comments made by people who own the device. Rarely do such products receive such enthusiastic reviews.

I am now convinced about the Clarisonic SkinCare System which is the reason behind this Clarison Reviews.

Oprah's Comments Drew My Attention To The Clarisonic SkinCare System

Clarisonic was invented by the same people who made the Sonicare Toothbrush

Oprah loves the Clarisonic and has selected the Clarisonic as one of her favorite things. From Oprah's Website:

Developed by the people who created the Sonicare Toothbrush, the Clarisonic Skin Care System helps remove six times more makeup than soap and water alone. The bristles vibrate 300 times per second and massage your face to squeaky clean perfection. "It's a miracle massage for your face," Oprah says.

Many people including Oprah, swear by this product. Several tests have been done which have validated these findings. For example,

The Dallas News tested 7 Products to see if they really worked. This is what the Dallas News wrote about Clarisonic:

THE RESULT: The Clarisonic does remove dead, flaky skin. And it did leave my face feeling smooth. My favorite feature is that it's waterproof. I have acne-prone skin, so I like that there are two brush heads - one for sensitive skin and one for normal skin. During testing, I was overzealous with a tea-tree oil treatment and ended up with some flaky patches. But the sensitive brush head smoothed them out without redness or irritation.

BOTTOM LINE: Clarisonic keeps its promise. The skin-care brush is probably worth the price if you don't regularly get facials or use high-end skin-care product lines that cleanse, exfoliate and unclog pores

Neutrogena's machine is cheaper than Clarisonic. BUT the puffs you have to use with it below are not cheap. While most women rave about the Clarisonic cleaner, you can use any facial cleaner with Clarisonic. With the Neutrogena system, you must keep buying puffs.

Though the Clarisonic cleaner is initially more expensive, in the long run it may be more economical compared to Neutrogena or compared to frequent visits to esthetician or cosmetologist.

What To Do If You Have Acne - Use a cleanser MADE for Acne together with your Clarisonic

Some users complain that the Clarisonic makes their acne worse. This is NO surprise and it is NOT the fault of the Clarisonic.

If you have a problem with acne, it isALWAYS best to use a cleanser made for acne. Acne is usually caused by bacteria. Most acne cleansers have an antiseptic or antibacterial agent that prevents the spread of the bacteria.

If you use the Sonicare without such a cleanser, you risk spreading your bacteria around your face and potentially making your acne worse. This is not the fault of the Sonicare. The Sonicare will deep clean your face, but in doing so, it can cause cause the bacteria to come to the surface of your skin. Make sure that you kill the bacteria with an agent that is made for that job. Remember that with Sonicare, you do not have to use the Sonicare cleanser. You can use any cleanser you like.
